Mangalore limping back to normalcy, curfew relaxed

Mangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Curfew was today relaxed during the day time even as the situation was limping back to normal in the city and surrounding areas which witnessed large scale violence since last Wednesday claiming two lives and more than 100 injured. Police sources said no untoward incident was reported since last night in Mangalore City, Ullal, Konaje, Veeranagar, Fisalnagar, Kannur, Addur and Derlakatte.

However, schools and colleges in the disturbed areas have declared a holiday as a precautionary measure. Most of the shops and commercial establishments were open Buses have started plying.

Police said those admitted in the hospital with injuries received during violence have been recovering.

In all 312 people have been arrested in connection with violence and 158 cases have been booked against them.
