Man shot dead

Gorakhpur, Oct 10 (UNI) One person was shot dead and another injured by unidentified assailants under Cantonment police station area here today.

A 315 bore rifle was also seized from the spot.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raja Srivastava said the incident took place near Civil Lines area, where armed miscreants shot dead Satyendra Singh and seriously wounded his aide Ripunjay.

The injured was later rushed to B R D Medical College.

A dispute relating to a contract was said to be the cause behind the murder. A case was registered.
