Lorry crushes to death twins; public resort to stone pelting

Hubli, Oct 10 (UNI) Two school children were crushed to death on the spot when a lorry ran over them on Pune-Bangalore national highway near Halgeri cross, leading to tension for some time in Ranebennur town of Haveri district today According to police, twins -- Mubarak and Husainsab -- were going to school when the mishap occurred.

Enraged over the incident, general public started pelting stones, leading to tension in the area. Three policemen were injured and two State Transport Corporation buses were damaged in the stone pelting.
