Laxmi Mittal Foundation donates Rs 5 cr to BVB's Mgmt Instt
New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Management Institute here has become the proud beneficiary of munificence from global steel magnate Laxmi Niwas Mittal.
The money -- Rs five crore -- shall be used by the Institute to impart free computer training to the educated unemployed youth belonging to the economically weaker section of the society, said BVB Director J Veeraraghavan here today.
The money was pledged to the institute last week during a function in Mumbai where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh dedicated the Bhavan's local Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology to late Union Industry Minister C Subramaniam, Mr Veeraraghavan told UNI.
Paraphrasing the Prime Minister's speech on the occasion, Mr Veeraraghavan observed that the Mumbai-based computer training institute was ''one of the most outstanding contributions of C Subramaniam to the country and the Indian people''.
