India would provide credible evidence to Pak
London, Oct 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said India would provide ''credible evidence'' to Pakistan establishing its links to the 7/11 Mumbai blasts.
The Institutional Mechanism that have been agreed upon by both the countries in Havana would help deal with terrorism in the region, Dr Singh added.
''We will take advantage of the offer of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in Havana to set up an Institutional Mechanism to deal with terrorist threats, the Prime Minister said at a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Tony Blair after a 30-minute one-on-one meeting followed by an hour-long delegation level talks.
Dr Singh said during talks in Havana the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to discuss and resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir.
Without naming Pakistan, Dr Singh said the nuclear test by North Korea highlighted the danger of clandestine proliferation in our neighbourhood. ''India's own security has suffered through clandestine proliferation linkages emanating from our own neighbourhood,'' the Prime Minister said in an apparent referrence to the nuclear black market scam run by Pakistan's disgraced nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.
Dr Singh was happy when Mr Blair endorsed his stance that there was no parallel between Indian policy and what happened in North Korea.
Later, speaking at an investment Summit of business leaders, the two premiers asserted that there was a tremendous scope for further expansion of economic linkages between India and the UK, even though they were strong and moving in the right direction.
''We are particularly glad that the UK views the rapid growth of India as an opportunity that can be used for mutual benefit. The UK business and industry should look more closely at opportunities unfolding with the quiet but substantive manufacturing revolution taking place in India,'' Dr Singh said.
While the UK is India's fourth largest trading partner and fifth largest foreign investor, India has emerged as the third largest investor in the UK in terms of the number of projects.
In fact, foreign direct investment flows from India to the UK have exceeded those from the UK into India since 2004.
