IMFL worth Rs 22 lakh seized in Godhra, 2 nabbed

Godhra, Oct 10 (UNI) The police seized a truck carrying 700 boxes of high quality Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 22 lakh on the Godhra-Lunavada highway late evening and also held three persons in this connection.

Police said acting on a tip-off, Police, intercepted a truck coming from Lunavada near Panchmahals Dairy, about 2.5 km from here.

After conducting a search, they found 700 cartons hidden behind 100 bags of paddy husk in the backside of the truck. They later impounded the truck. The consignment was being brought in from Rajasthan for the forthcoming Diwali festival.

The arrested accused were identified as truck driver Colonel Singh Gurudev Singh Saini, a resident of Haryav in Patiala district of Punjab, Surendrapal Singh Sadhu Singh Mussalman, also hailing from Haryana, Rakesh Kumar Phoolchand Singh Kalal, a resident of Sakatpura, in Kota district of Rajasthan.

A case has been registered under the Prohibition Act and further investigations are on, they added.
