IATO condoles Suri's death
New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) today expressed grief over the death of hotelier Lalit Suri in London.
Describing him as the "uncrowned hotel King of India," IATO President Subash Goyal said he had endeared himself to all through his rare qualities. His death had plunged in grief not ony the tourism and hotel industry, but the entire nation, Mr Goyal said, recalling his contribution as a Rajya Sabha member.
"In his death, the country had lost a renowned hotelier, entrepreneur and politician, besides a true champion of hotel and tourism industry." Mr Goyal said Mr Suri had raised several issues concerning the hotel industry in Rajya Sabha. "Mr Suri died at a time when we needed him the most." UNI SH VD HT1452
