Haryana CM holds meeting with Dutch minister
Chandigarh, Oct 10: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda yesterday met the Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs Mr Joop Wijn alongwith senior officers of the Haryana government.
During the meeting, issues relating to economic co-operation between the two states were discussed. The Chief Minister suggested co-operation between Netherlands and Haryana in the field of Food Processing industry and agri research.
Mr Wijn welcomed the suggestion and agreed to study the details of such a cooperation. It was also agreed that the two sides shall work for promoting cooperation in industry and in science and technology.
The Chief Minister who is leading a high level business delegation to the Netherlands, extended an invitation to Mr Wijn to lead a Duth delegation to Haryana in order to take the relationship further.
Later the Chief Minister alongwith the officials and industry delegates had an interactive session with the Hague Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr P K Chaudhery, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Industries Department, gave a presentation where the policies and thrust areas of the state were highlighted. He also listed out the areas where the competitive strengths of the Dutch industry could be utilised especially in the field of R and D technology, water resource management, sustainable energy etc.
Mr Hooda in his address also stressed on the need for greater interaction between the two and extended an invitation to the members of the Chamber to visit Haryana to assess the potential of investing in the state. A delegation from the Chamber would be undertaking visit to Haryana sometime early next year.
