German and British national die in HP

Shimla, Oct 10 (UNI) A 69-year old British national was found dead in a hotel bathroom here, while a German national died while being taken to a hospital in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.

Anne Davidson, 69, was found dead in Cecil hotel bathroom at 0830 hours after the hotel staff broke open the door after failing to get any response from inside her room.

The sources said she along with other friends had checked into the hotel last night and no foul play was suspected in the incident.

The post mortem report revealed that the death occurred due to a heart attack, the sources said.

In another incident, a 60-year-old German national died while he was being taken to the hospital last night at Dharamshala in Kangra district, ASP Santosh Patial said.

Thomas Mohar, 60, a German national living on a tourist visa at Sidbhari area along with his wife since May 30, died on his way to the hospital following deterioration in his conditions, he said.

Mr Patial said Mr Mohar, suffering from Tuberculosis, was being taken to DR R P Government Medical College and Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

His body has been handed over to his wife after post mortem examination, he said.

The British and German Embassies have been informed about the death of their nationals in the state, the sources added.
