Four killed over trivial argument
Bilaspur, Oct 10 (UNI) Four people were killed over a trivial argument between two groups last night at Chanadongri village in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district, police said today.
Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Dev Gautam said an elderly person was beaten to death by a group following an argument with another group, who killed three people in retaliation.
On receiving information, police were deployed in the area.
Tension prevailed but situation was in control.
The trouble began when some people gave Rs 1,000 note after purchasing 'gutka' from a pan shop and demanded its change. The matter calmed down following intervention by some elderly persons.
Later, three people of one group, who were drunk, unleashed an attack on a home belonging to the other side and murdered Babulal Sahu (55).
In reply, the other group killed three people -- Jagesh Yadav (35), Mahesh Yadav (30) and Vijay Yadav (25) -- of a family.
