Four dead, 26 affected with Dengue
Hyderabad, Oct 10 (UNI) The number of persons affected by Dengue in Andhra Pradesh has risen to 26 and the official death toll to four, a Health official said today.
Talking to newspersons here, state Health Deputy Director Prabhakar Reddy said four persons died of Dengue in Khammam, East Godavari, Anantapur and Srikakulam districts. Out of 26 cases, 20 were confirmed through laboratory tests while the remaining six were suspected of Dengue faver.
The highest number of five cases were reported from Nizamabad, followed by four in Kadapa, three in Chittor, two each in Anantapur, Khammam, Hyderabad and Nalgonda, one each in East Godavari, Karim Nagar, Srikakulam, Warangal and West Godavari.
The official said the health department has taken up anti-mosquito operations on warfooting to curb the Dengue outbreak and was also organising mass awareness programmes throughout the state.
