Effective steps under way against dengue: UP govt tells HC

Lucknow, Oct 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh medical and health department today submitted a report before the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court claiming that appropriate measures were being taken to contain the spread of dengue.

A division bench Justices Jagdish Bhalla and Dharmaveer Sharma fixed October 12 as the next date of hearing in the case.

The order was passed on a PIL filed by local lawyer Brijesh Kumar Shukla seeking directions to the state government for taking effective measures against the menace.

Senior officials including medical and health Director General (DG) were present in the court for today's hearing.

In his report, the DG said several steps including fogging were being undertaken to contain the vector-borne killer disease.
