Distributers creating drug shortage: Minister
Palakkad, Oct 10 (UNI) Kerala Electricity Minister A K Balan today said the government would take stern action against 35 pharmaceutical distributers for creating shortage of drugs.
Talking to newspersons after reviewing the Chikungunya prevention programme here, he said the government would take stern action, including cancelling their drug licences, if they failed to distribute medicines within one week.
Though the Collector had convened a meeting of the All Kerala Chemists and Druggists Association, except non members in the association, the 35 distribution companies had not attended the meeting, he said.
Mr Balan alleged that these agencies were creating fake shortage of medicines.
