Delhi is like Canberra to me, says Brett Lee

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) A home away from home, that's what India has always been for Aussie speed merchant Brett Lee, who feels that heat and dust put aside, Delhi is just like Australian capital Canberra because of its spacious enviorns.

''Delhi is a lot like Canberra to me. That's because the Indian capital is just so well structured and has lots of space,'' Lee told reporters at a media session here.

''I have never made a secret of the fact that India is second home to me. Of course I like Bollywood but more importantly I enjoy coming here because of the people and I just love Delhi and Mumbai,'' he added.

The Australian, who is yet to make his debut at his 'second home', said he has come with a mission to make his mark in India during the Champions Trophy.

''I couldn't get a match the last time I came here with the team,'' he said, referring to the 2002 Australia's tour of India in which he did not play a single game because of an ankle injury.

''But this time I am fully fit and I want to make sure that I make some good contribution to the team's campaign. I have always wanted to play in India and I believe if a player can do well here he can do well in any part of the world,'' he said.

Speaking about the batting-friendly pitches in India and the overall changing face of the game which is now dominated by the batsmen, Lee said it was important for any international cricketer to keep re-inventing himself no matter what the conditions.

''In one-dayers, it's very important to have goals but they can change with the situation. So, I think every cricketer needs to be adaptable to new conditions and situations. With new rules like powerplays coming into effect, I think the batsmen have become dominant. So, the bowlers need to keep changing themselves and understand that currently even 1-48 in 10 overs is a good enough performance,'' he explained.
