CM moots plans with officials to check spread of Dengue

Hyderabad, Oct 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today met his cabinet colleagues and other top officials at the Secretariat and discussed various measures to control the spread of Dengue fever.

An official release here said Dr Reddy, who is also the Chairman of the State Health Mission, had constituted a task force with the Principal Secretary of Health Department as its Chairperson and Secretaries of Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj and Tribal Welfare as members.

The Chief Minister urged the legislators, department officials, NGOs, doctors, health workers and people to work in tandem on a war footing to manage and control vector borne diseases like Malaria, Dengue and Chikungunya and Japanese Encephalitis in the state.

Dr Reddy said money had already been released under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) for equipment, anti-malarial, chemical spray, mobility and IEC.

State Health Minster K Rosaiah convened a conference with private nursing homes, members of IMA, Rotary Club and other prominent leading NGOs to involve both public and private partnership in controlling mosquito borne diseases, the release added.
