Centre agrees for second Sainik School in Haryana
Chandigarh, Oct 10 (UNI) The Defence ministry has agreed in principle to set up second Sainik School in Haryana provided the state government agrees to deposit Rs 20 crore for the project.
This was informed by Union Minister of State for Defense production Rao Inderjit Singh while interacting with media person at Chandigarh Press Club here today.
The state already has a Sainik School in Kunjpura near Karnal.
On the issue of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Haryana, the Lok Sabha member from Mahendragarh pointed out that he had written a letter to UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to incorporate some of his suggestions while setting up of the SEZ.
These suggestions included allotment of shares of the company developing the SEZ to the farmers, plots to farmers on the pattern of HUDA and the developer should ensure development of all villages falling in the jurisdiction of SEZ.
He said that in Haryana, the SEZ was being set up near Gurgaon on barren land which was not viable as such a mega project needed enough ground water.
