CAS:MSOs asked to furnish information on quality of service

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today asked Multi Service Operators (MSOs) to furnish information in standard format for monitoring of their performance regarding maintenance of quality of service in areas where CAS is to be implemented from December.

TRAI had on September 8 issued regulations specifying standards of Quality of Service (QoS) to be observed by the MSOs and Cable Operators in CAS-notified areas of Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata .

This Regulation also provided that TRAI, for the purpose of monitoring, can prescribe formats and call for reports from service providers, on observance of QoS standards.

The MSOs, who are permitted to provide cable service in CAS notified areas under the Cable Amendment Rules of 2006, would be obliged to maintain quality of standards as may be determined by the TRAI.
