'Cake Mixing Ceremony' at Chennai hotel

Chennai, Oct 10: Announcing the advent of Christmas, 'Rain Tree', the latest boutique hotel in the city, celebrated 'Cake Mixing Ceremony' at ASL (Above Sea Level), Chennai's popular Roof Top restaurant, here today.

Cakes being inseparable with the Christmas celebrations, preparations begin months in advance and the flour mixing process, formally called the 'Cake Mixing Ceremony' is a ritual with religious flavour, a release said.

In the ceremony, dry fruits are marinated by soaking them in different kinds of liquor. Flavoring agents and other taste-makers are also used. The greater the duration of soaking, the better is the product, the release added.
