BJS candidate for Malehara by-poll announced
Chhatarpur, MP, Oct 10 (UNI) The Bharatiya Jan Shakti today announced the name of candidate for Malehara assembly constituency where the by-poll is slated for October 30.
Talking to reporters, BJS General Secretary Prahlad Patel announced the candidature of Ms Rekha Yadav from the constituency, home turf of BJS President Uma Bharti, who secured more than 61,000 votes during December 2003 election.
The by-election to the constituency was necessitated after Ms Bharti resigned from the seat on moral grounds after forming a new party.
Mr Patel called upon party workers to leave no stone unturned to help Ms Yadav win the by-poll.
Ms Yadav, a resident of Patra village in Malehara, is sister-in law of late Congress legislator Uma Yadav, who had won assembly election in 1993.
Ms Yadav will file her nomination paper tomorrow. Ms Bharti is expected to remain present during filing of the nomination.
