Bangla captain happy with team show
Jaipur, Oct 10 (UNI) The last time he was here in the Pink City was for his honeymoon. Habibul Bashar, leading a Bangladesh team which has little chances of making to the main draw, knows things won't be as rosy this time but he is not too unhappy with the team performance so far.
Talking to UNI on the eve of the team's tie against the defending champions West Indies, Bashar said the squad was buoyed after their performance in the last match which they lost to Sri Lanka by 37 runs.
''For some time, our team has been playing good cricket and is in good touch. We scored 265 for nine , which I think was a good chase to their huge total of 302,'' he pointed out.
Bashar admitted chances are quite slim of making it to the main draw but the Bangla captain was seeing the larger picture.
''Our chances may not be very good but every match is very important for the team to prove itself and gain in confidence,'' he explained.
The team arrived here last afternoon has gone and had a blast in the team hotel where they celebrated left-arm spinner Mohammad Rafique's birthday last night.
