Apang announces Rs 5.37 crore for Jengging-Deki road
Itanagar, Oct 10 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has announced sanctioning of Rs 5.37 crore under non-lapsable central pool of resources (NLCPR) for construction of all weather roads from Jengging to Deki in Ramsing under Upper Siang district of the state. Addressing a development meeting at Yingkiong during his three-day visit to Upper Siang district recently, the chief minister directed the public works department, the executing agency of the road project to expedite the work so that it could be completed before March 2007, informed official sources here today. Exhorting the people to cooperate with the executing agency for timely completion of formation cutting of 30 km road, he also cautioned the working department not to create backlog against any scheme and stressed on judicious utilization of fund. Highlighting the efforts of the state government to promote work culture among the employees, the chief minister emphatically said that the policy of 'no work no pay' would be henceforth implemented strictly and no one would be spared. Stressing on the exploring of double cropping of paddy, apple plantation etc for self-sufficiency in the district, Mr Apang also exhorted the agriculture and horticulture departments to motivate the villagers to take up agri and horti activities to boost the economy of the state from village level, sources added.
