A teenaged girl kidnapped and raped by trio

Mumbai, Oct 10 (UNI) A 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped by her neighbour along with his two associates near Milindnagar, Jogeshwari, in the western suburbs last evening, police said.

The victim and the accused Vinod Mallik were neighbours. At around 1920 hours yesterday, Vinod lured her on the pretext of taking her for shopping but instead, he took her to an undercontruction building, off the Jogeshwari Linking road along with his two associates. Initially, she was molested by the accused, and thereafter, his friends raped her and threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anybody.

When the girl returned home, she told her parents who lodged a complaint at the Powai police station.

The Police have arrested Vinod Mallik and his two friends Ashok and Sachin. A case of rape has been registered against the trio, the police said.
