Sugar prices rise on increase of fresh demand
Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) Spot sugar prices rose on increased of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.
Sugar of small grade declined by Rs eight per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure while medium grade went up by Re one per quintal on reduced stock supply.
Sugar of ex-mill in small and medium grades hiked by Rs five each per quintal on improved demand.
Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,763/1,812, medium grade: Rs 1,781/1,855.
Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,740/1,755, medium grade: Rs 1,770/1,820.
