Sonia pays rich tributes to Kanshi Ran in letter to Mayawati

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi paid rich tributes to 'dalit messiah' Kanshi Ram, who passed away early today following prolonged illness.

In a letter to BSP president Ms Mayawati, Ms Sonia Gandhi called Mr Ram's death as a ''big loss for all''.

Stressing that his untiring efforts opened more avenues and opportunities for the 'dalits' in the political arena, Ms Gandhi said despite his not having held any post his stature commanded respect among the masses.

''His continuous fight for social justice is an important chapter in our present political history.'' In this hour of grief I offer my sincere condolences to you and millions of followers of Kanshi Ramji, her letter added.
