Sex scam prisoners plead for Srinagar jail for prayers

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) The 13 accused arrested in the Srinagar sex scandal case today pleaded a local court here for being shifted to Srinagar central jail so that they could perform prayer on Id-ul-Fitr on October 25 in their native state.

The court will give its verdict on their plea on October 12.

The accused, presently lodged in the Burail Central Jail here, filed their application in the court of District and Sessions Judge B S Mehndiratta pleading be easy for their family members to meet them in the Srinagar jail in the ongoing month of Ramzan.

The accused were shifted to the Burail Jail here when the hearing against them had begun in the Chandigarh court last month.
