Rupee trips 13 paise to close at Rs 45.72/USD

Mumbai, Oct 9: Indian Rupee today lost 13 paise to close at Rs 45.72 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 45.59 per USD, as crude oil price touched US Dollar 60 per barrel mark and gave rise to Dollar demand in many oil and refinery companies, a money market trader said.

Earlier, Rupee opened at Rs 45.68/69 per US Dollar and in the mid morning traded at the same levelper US Dollar.

The six month forward premia was fixed low at 1.36 per cent and the one year premia was also low at 1.36 per cent.

The Reseve Bank Of India today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 45.72 per US Dollar compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.61 per US Dollar.

The performance of Rupee against other currencies was mixed, against Euro Rupee closed down at Rs 57.52 (57.40), against Pound Sterling it however closed up at Rs 85.15 (85.30), and against Yen it was up at Rs 38.34 (38.40).
