PNB bags Natl Award for lending to tiny sector

New Delhi, Oct 9: State-run Punjab National Bank (PNB) has bagged the 'National Award for Excellence' for lending to tiny sector this year.

Union Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the award to PNB Chairman and Managing Director S C Gupta alongwith bank's General Manager V K Nagar at a function here.

Union Minister for Small Scale Industries Mahabir Prasad was also present at the ocassion.

PNB is likely to achieve a total business of more than Rs 2,00,000 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal, PNB sources said earlier this week.

The total business of the bank stood at Rs 1,94,719 crore at the end of June 2006.

PNB offers a wide variety of banking services with its presence in all the important centres of the country.
