PM to discuss terrorism, energy, trade in UK, Finland

New Delhi, Oct 9: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will discuss issues like counter-terrorism, energy, globalisation and high-tech areas like ITER and the Galileo Space Project in his meetings with European Union (EU) leaders during his six-day visit to England and Finland beginning today.

Dr Singh who left here this morning on an official visit to the United Kingdom and to participate in the 7th India-EU Summit in Helsinki, said in a statement before departure that he would also review specific steps to enhance trade and investment ties between India and the EU.

The Prime Minister will be in UK upto October 11 on the first leg of his visit. From there he will go to Finland to attending the 7th India-EU Summit on October 13-14.

He will also visit the Cambridge University to receive an Honorary Doctorate which will be conferred by the Chancellor of the University, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The India-EU Summit in Helsinki would provide an opportunity to review progress in implementation of the Joint Action Plan adopted by the last Summit in New Delhi.
