Lord Buddha's urn to be kept in Vaishali: Raghuvansh
Patna, Oct 9 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has strongly demanded that Lord Buddha's urn (sacred ash) should be displayed in Vaishali district.
Speaking at a programme here yesterday, Mr Singh, who represent Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency in Parliament, justified his demands for moving the holy urn to Vaishali.
It was excavated from Vaishali and should be kept there, he added.
He said that the urn had been kept in Patna museum and displayed to foreign tourists only. The foreigners saw the 'ashthi kalash' of Lord Buddha by paying just US $ 100.
He said the urn at Vaishali was significant as it would boost tourism in the state.
The Minister lamented that there was no Lord Buddha museum in Viashali and it should be made to provide relevent information to the tourists.
Meanwhile, the state government has been planning to place the holy urn of Lord Buddha for public display under high security in Patna.
