Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 9: Kerala Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has arrived at a tri-partite agreement with the Go Air and Interfit Tours and Travels, Kochi, to promote Kerala packages jointly.

However, the KTDC had not made any agreement with the Go Air in this regard, he said in a written reply to K V Thomas (Cong).

According to the agreement, the KTDC would provide their hotel rooms at subsidised rates, while the Interfit would take over the road transportation activities.

He said the Go Air would issue tickets in their flights for Kerala packages. Each institution would promote the package in their capacity through media advertisements, he added.

He said the Go Air on the other hand would also promote KTDC through their call centres and Web site.

As part of promoting shopping tourism in the state, the Tourism Department with the Sri Lankan Airlines would formulate a package for distributing Kerala's traditional handicrafts, dress materials, ornaments and ayurvedic medicines through special outlets, to the passengers travelling by the Sri Lankan airways, he said.
