Jammu, Oct 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir administration held a high-level meeting of senior officers to discuss the arrangements made by health authorities to combat dengue in the state including Poonch where one case was found positive.

Divisional commissioner, Jammu Parmod Jain chaired the meeting attended among others by Deputy commissioner, Jammu Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Director Health Services, medical superintendent Vinod Gupta, state malaria officer Farooq Ahmed Tak and Health Officer D Singh.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Jain said the dengue was not fatal if detected in time. ''Jammu and Kashmir is not affected by dengue but apprehensions of imported cases through 25 lakh belt force and 75 lakh pilgrims around the country could not be ruled out,'' he said.

The Divisional commissioner asked the health authorities to start spraying fog in rural and urban areas and cover all pockets of the state by the end of October.

He also requested the citizens to adhere to prevention measures and cooperate with the administration. ''Any person feeling the dengue disease shall report and consult the hospital authority for medical treatment,'' he said.
