Heavy rains forecast in coastal Karnataka, Kerala
Pune, Oct 9 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in south Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, north Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Telangana and Rayalseema.
The Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from entire Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, most parts of Jharkhand, parts of Chattisgarh, entire Madhya Pradesh, some parts of Vidarbha, some parts of north Madhya Maharashtra, entire Gujarat, north Arabian sea and some parts of central Arabian sea.
The Southwest Monsoon has been subdued over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh.
Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in south Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, north Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh, and were above normal in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. They were below normal in south Rajasthan and north Gujarat.
Night temperatures were below normal in Jharkhand. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and north Madhya Maharashtra, and were above normal in Bihar, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and some northern parts of Vidarbha and Chattisgarh.
