Hearing of Sankaraman murder case posted to Oct 30

Puducherry, Oct 9 (UNI) A local court, hearing the Sankaraman murder case, in which Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswati and Vijayendra Saraswati are prime accused posted the case to October 30.

Principle and District Sessions Judge M Chinnapandi passed the order when 12 out of the 24 accused, including the seers failed to turn up before the court, when the case came up for hearing today.

Separate petitions citing reasons for their absence were filed by the defence counsels.

It may be noted that as the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the defence on the continuance of the Tamil Nadu Special Public Prosecutor in the case in Puducherry, was still pending before the Supreme Court, the proceeding of the case cannot be taken up till its disposal.
