SINGAPORE, Oct 9 (Reuters) Gold rose sharply on Monday after crude oil traded above $60 a barrel but a holiday in Japan may limit gains.
-- Spot gold gained to $576.40/577.40 an ounce from $572.40/573.40 an ounce late in New York on Friday, when it rebounded from early lows on weekend short covering.
-- Key gold futures on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange ended 42 yen per gram higher on Friday at 2,190 yen.
-- Silver rose to 11.18/11.25 an ounce from $11.08/11.15 late in New York.
-- Platinum gained to 1,077/1,022 an ounce from $1,073/1,078 in New York.
-- Palladium rose to $298/303 an ounce from $296/300 late in New York.
