Criminals gun down two policemen

Patna, Oct 9 (UNI) A havildar and a constable of Bihar police were killed and a sub-inspector was seriously injured in an encounter with a gang of criminals at Mol Diara village under Mokama police station area of Patna district today.

Additional DGP (headquarters) Abhayanand said that acting on a tip off, a police team proceeded towards the village where some members of notorious Naga gang had assembled. Viewing the approaching policemen from the hideout, the criminals opened fire indiscriminately, he added.

Havildar Gangadhar Jha and constable Saket Bihari died on the spot while sub-inspector Shyam Bihari was seriously injured and was rushed to Patna for treatment, Mr Abhayanand said.

A Massive manhunt is on and the affected village and its neighbouring areas have been sealed to nab the criminals.
