Court extends judicial remand for Krushi Bank Chairman
Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) A local court today extended judicial remand od Krushi Bank Chief K Venkateswara Rao till October 23.
Mr Rao, who fled the country five years ago after allegedly duping 8,300 depositors of nearly Rs 32 crore was produced before the Nampally court by CID officials this afternoon.
The CID filed a petition seeking permission to conduct narco- analysis tests on Mr Rao. Though the court had given the permission even earlier, Mr Rao had refused to undergo the test.
A special police team brought back Mr Venkateswara Rao from Thailand to Hyderabad on July 28.
Interpol arrested him in Thailand in October last. Since then, the Crime Investigation Department here pursued the matter with the Thai government and finally managed to get him extradited.
