Cong workers in Mangalore peeved at party dist leaders' attitude

Mangalore, Oct 9 (UNI) Congress workers in the trouble-torn Dakshina Kannada district today expressed deep anguish before party national and state leaders over their party district leaders not lending an ear to their problems and hardships during the violence.

When Union Minister of State for Home Prakash Jaiswal, Union Minister Oscar Fernandes, former Union Minister Janardhan Pujari, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly N Dharam Singh, Leader of the Opposition in the Council H K Patil and KPCC President Mallikarjun Kharge were about to board their vehicles to oversee the disturbed areas, the anguished Congressmen, led by party Minority Cell district President U K Monu prevented them and complained that policemen were forcibly entering the houses of innocent Muslims and arresting them in connection with the violence.

However, the party district leaders failed to respond when the incidents were brought to their notice, they complained.
