Chopra tied 6th, Atwal finishes tied 22nd in Chrysler Classic
North Carolina, Oct 9 (UNI) Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra finished tied sixth, while Orlando-based Arjun Atwal raised his game in the final round and turned in 68 to finish tied 22nd in the five million dollar Chrysler Classic of Greensboro here.
After his scintillating card of 66 in the penultimate round, Chopra returned a sedate card of three-under 69 to total 11-under 277 to finish tied sixth. Chopra pocketed 151,250 dollar for his effort.
Yet to confirm his next year's card, Atwal, on the other hand, looked determined to set things in order and the dropped shot on par-four 11th was the lone blot in an otherwise sparkling round.
Atwal began with a bang, picking up a shot in the opening hole, and then repeated it on the fourth, seventh, 14th and 17th and his four-day total of eight-under 288 fetched him the tied 22nd place.
Atwal returned richer by 46,416.67 dollar from the event.
Davis Love III, who was overlooked as captain's pick in the Ryder Cup, alleviated the pain with a commanding two-shot victory at 16-under 272 -- his first PGA Tour title since 2003.
