Call rates trade low at 6.35 - 6.45 pc level, gilts high
Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) Call rates today traded low between at 6.35-6.45 per cent level as compared to the previous close.
RBI in the call money market on October seven transacted Rs 734.74 crore at the weighted average of 6.39 per cent.
In the first Liquidity adjustment RBI transacted Rs 17,100 crore through seven bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent, whereas in the second liquidity auction RBI transacted Rs 12,065 crore through 14 bids.
However, RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.
Gilts rose to their highest in more than a week amidst lack lusture activity. The eleven year bond (GS 8.07 per cent 2017) traded low at 102.67 and gave a yield of 7.69 per cent.
Today, RBI had fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 45.72/ US Dollar compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.61/US Dollar.
