Buchanan says he has no hard feelings for Warne

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Australia coach John Buchanan said he had no hard feelings for Shane Warne despite the champion leg spinner's scathing comments on his utility in the world champion side.

''I have no hard feelings for Warne. We have spoken on phone about the matter and we have sorted it out,'' Buchanan said here when asked about Warne's tirade that the coach lacked commonsense and his methods often complicated matters.

Warne was openly critical of Buchanan's recent boot camp in the Queensland bush and the British media quoted him as saying that Australia do not need him as coach.

Mike Hussey and Michael Clarke, however, praised Buchanan's contribution in making the world champions a consistently winning side.

''His (Buchanan's) contribution in making the side improve all the time is fantastic,'' Hussey said.

When asked how the Aussie team kept on improving all the time under his stewardship, Buchanan gave the credit to the players.

''It is the players who wanted to improve. I was just stimulating them,'' he said.

Buchanan, who is quitting the high profile job after next year's World Cup cricket in the Carribeans, said the Aussies should not look beyond the Champions Trophy and think of the Ashes.

''It would be dangerous for us to have a one eye on the Ashes. We have not won this tournament and we would do our best to win it,'' he said.

He also does not think that his side were the favourites and said they would not look beyond the group matches and take the matches as it come.

''The tournament format is such that if any team loses one match in the group stage it would be difficult to qualify for the semi-finals. So, our task is to qualify for the semi-finals first before thinking of wiining the tournamnet,'' he added.
