British Airports Group delegation arrives
New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) A British Airports Group delegation arrived in India today to promote British skills and technology in the airports sector, considered by many UK companies as having more business potential than China.
Supported by the UK Trade and Investment organisation, the visit is significant in terms of establishing new business relations, a British High Commission release said.
The delegation will go to Hyderabad and Mumbai during its four-day visit, it added.
Thirteen companies from the UK took part in a UK Trade and Investment-sponsored seminar in the national capital today.
''India is one of the most exciting aviation markets,'' said Mr Malcolm Trigg, Chairman of the British Airports Group, who thinks there is business worth five to ten billion dollars in the country.
British aviation companies increasingly feel there is more business potential in India than in China today, said Mr Trigg.
''And that is the reason why more and more companies are shifting their business focus from China to India.'' The delegation met Civil Aviation Ministry's Joint Secretary, R K Singh, Airports Authority of India Chairman Ramalingam and senior officials of the Delhi airport.
