Baalu approves road improvement works in Assam under SARDP-NE

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) The Centre has approved an amount of Rs 111.81 crore for strengthening and widening several National Highways stretches in Assam under Phase 'A' of the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme-North East (SARDP-NE).

The approval was granted by Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu following a representation from the state government.

The approved plans include Rs 67.17 for two-laning nearly a 30-km stretch on NH 152 and Rs 24.08 crore for widening and strengthening of existing single lane road to 2-lane on a 12-km stretch on NH 153.

Mr Baalu also approved an amount of Rs 21.56 crore for widening and strengthening of existing single lane road to 2-lane on a 10-km stretch on UNINH 153 in Assam, a ministry official said today.
