Army's uniform colours banned for civilians in Udhampur

Jammu, Oct 9 (UNI) Use of army's olive as well as combat uniform colours by the civilians has been banned in Udhampur district of this region, sources said here today.

''Keeping in view the peace, tranquility and proper maintenance of law and order in the district, Udhampur district magistrate P Kalandria has ordered a ban on the sale, purchase, stitching and use of service uniforms and uniform articles by unauthorised persons and use of army type painted vehicles by civilians throughout its territorial jurisdiction,'' sources said.

According to the district magistrate, all officers of the revenue and police agencies would ensure implementation of this order in letter and spirit.

The order, which was passed yesterday, would remain in force for a period of two months, they added.
