12 suspected Naxalites arrested in Orissa

Berhampur, Orissa, Oct 8 (UNI) In a major breakthrough a joint combing operation launched by the CRPF, Orissa State Armed Police (OSAP) and special Greyhound police led to the arrest of 12 suspected Naxalites from two villages in Gajapati district in Orissa.

All the 12 Naxalites were later produced today before the first class magistrate at Parlakhemundi who remanded them to judicial custody.

According to the police, all the suspected Naxalites were involved in the attack on the R Udayagiri police station and jail in March last.

While eight of them were arrested from Anuguda-Nuagaon village one was arrested from Nuagaon village and the rest three from Nidhigudi-putasingh village in Gajapati district.

Uniforms bearing ''PLGA'' and several literatures besides leaflets were seized from their possession.
