Van carrying ballot papers overturns, ten injured

Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, Oct 8 (UNI) Ten persons were injured, when the mini door van in which they were carrying ballot papers for the October 13 and 15 local body elections overturned at Varanasi village near here today.

Police said the ballot papers were taken from Thanjavur to Veppur in Perambalur District.

The accident occurred, when the van lost control while turning at a sharp curve.

Out of the ten injured, two were policemen and remaining eight were from State Revenue Department.

While five were admitted to Government Medical College at Thanjavur, the remaining were admitted to Ariyalur Government Hospital, police added.
