Rs 36 lakh worth silver seized from vehicle near Godhra

Godhra, Oct 8 (UNI) Police have seized silver biscuits worth Rs 36 lakh and arrested four persons in this connection on the Godhra-Vadodara highway early today.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team stopped the Balero vehicle coming from Indore near Nandapura railway crossing, and carried out checks. They found the biscuits, weighing about 386 kgs, in a secret chamber of the vehicle.

The four travelling in the vehicle -- Atul Renuka, Dhirubai Patel, Vimal Shah, Arvind Sanghani -- were arrested.

They were on their way to Rajkot. They could not produce the purchase bills or any supporting documents, police said.
