Release Taksing native from Chinese captivity

Itanagar, Oct 08: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has urged the Central and the state government to take up with China for immediate release of the Arunachalee villager, who has been detained by the Chinese authority from LOC, Sera-3, for accidentally straying into its territory on August 18.

Chinese authority detained Cheda Chader, a man from Taksing area in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, when he unknowingly tresspassed into their territory during a hunting expedition.

An AAPSU delegation led by its president Kanu Bagang along with state Rural Development Minister Tanga Byaling on Friday last visited the remote Taksing circle to take stock of the situation.

The apex students' body urged for initiating necessary steps to release the innocent villager taking the ground reality of the difficult terrain and life in the far-flung area, where most of the people were dependent on hunting and extracts from forest for their livelihood.
