Procedures on to send Chinese sailor back home: Police
Kochi, Oct 8 (UNI) Police today said they were in contact with the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi to facilitate the travel of the rescued Chinese sailor who allegedly jumped into the sea after he picked up a quarrel with the captain of the ship.
Police said after questioning it was found that the sailor, Zhank Zhao Li, jumped into sea after an altercation with the captain of the ship.
They said they were in touch with the Chinese Embassy to prepare the requisite travel documents to facilitate his travel back to his country.
However, police said the sailor was found to be in a 'depressed mood'.
The sailor jumped from the Chinese container vessel, 'Zhen Hua 10', some 120 nautical miles north-west off here early yesterday and was rescued by a fishing boat, which brought him to the mainland.
