Lumla-Tashigang border road in the pipeline
Itanagar, Oct 8 (UNI) With the completion of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed Lumla-Tashigang border road in Indo-Bhutan sector the people in Arunachal's Tawang district can dream of better transportation and communication.
Legislator of the area Rev T G Rinpoche has submitted the DPR to 14 Border Road Task Force (BRTF) Commander Anil Jamadar in a meeting at Lumla on Friday last, official sources said.
'' Though the construction of the proposed road is not been authenticated by the Bhutan government the bilateral dialogue is on with the state government and is presumed that foundation stone of the road would be laid within a few years,'' Mr Rinpoche said.
Responding to the queries of the representatives of various blocks regarding the road alignment prepared by the BRTF, Mr Rinpoche said district level coordination committee would be formed keeping in view the public interest.
'' Overall development needs to be done both internally and externally otherwise development itself will be proved detrimental to the society instead of bringing up a meaningful change'', he added.
