IR battalion in Chhattisgarh to fight Maoists
Aizawl, Oct 8: The 2nd Mizoram Indian Reserve Police battalion have started their operation to combat maoist menace in Chhattisgarh.
Official sources here today said the battalion had reached Chhattisgarh on Wednesday.
Chhatisgarh government was in a desperate need of the battalion as the maoists have become very active in the state recently.
The battalion has been trained at the Counter-Insurgency&Jungle Warfare School in Mizoram's Vairengte district.
However, the actual location of their operation has not been revealed for security purposes.
